Southwest Virginia Community Health Systems’ Bristol Community Health Center in Bristol, Va. and Tazewell Community Health Center in Tazewell, Va. has been awarded a compliance Gold Star award from the Virginia Department of Health for vaccine program.
The compliance award covers almost everything involved in our vaccine program including a patient management plan, vaccine handling, ordering, and storage, proper documentation of eligibility status, chart documentation and records requirements, keeping updated Vaccine Information Statement (VIS) statements, and appropriate billing of state-funded vaccines. The Gold Star award encompasses the months of April through May 2024.
SVCHS’ Director of Pediatrics, Andrea McClintic, DO, said, “I want to personally thank everyone for all of their efforts towards our pediatric and adult immunization practices here at SVCHS. By improving rates of immunizations, we are providing better health outcomes to all children and their families in our communities. I am so passionate about seeing SVCHS as the leader in this area of preventative medicine. This reflects the participation of our front office staff, nurses, providers, and billing staff.
