About

At New Day Recovery, it is our goal to provide high-quality treatment services to help with problems of substance abuse.  Our staff is committed to caring and promoting dignity and self-respect in and for each and every patient.  We provide you with the opportunity to obtain treatment and embrace recovery with the least amount of disruption in your life.  Your treatment is personalized from intake to discharge to ensure that you receive necessary medical and counseling attention.  As a result, you can continue to receive support from the community and your family.  Our staff consists of professionals who are qualified and trained in the treatment of addiction.  Family participation is highly encouraged because addiction impacts each member.  For additional information, read about an article that appeared in the Smyth County News here.

Recovery Stage Color System

The number of individual sessions will be determined at the time of your assessment to be attended in conjunction with group sessions.* All stage colors will be accompanied by jelly bracelets that are to be worn every day, not only as an identifier of your stage but also as a part of the therapeutic intervention process.

Recovery Stage Red

The patient attends group two times a week for four weeks with a minimum of one individual counseling session per month.  At this stage of recovery, you will need the maximum amount of support which consists of therapeutic interventions (i.e., group, individual) and medication assistance, which requires complete adherence to attendance policies.

Recovery Stage Orange

The patient attends group one time a week for six weeks with a minimum of one individual counseling session per month. At this stage, you still need support in order to remain consistent in the recovery process.

Recovery Stage Green

The patient attends group every two weeks with a minimum of one individual counseling session per month.  At this stage, you will be maintained at this pace for the duration of your recovery journey to ensure consistency, maintenance, and processing of therapeutic interventions.

Recovery Stage Gold

The patient continues to attend group every two weeks with a minimum of one individual counseling session per month.  At this stage, you will start the taper process while continuing the therapeutic process to gradually remove yourself from medication so you can continue the life-long recovery without requiring medication assistance.
