Southwest Virginia Community Health Systems in cooperation with James H. Quillen College of Medicine of East Tennessee State University will host a free health fair at Saltville Medical Center and Meadowview Health Clinic.
The free health fair will occur at Saltville Medical Center on Wednesday, September 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at Meadowview Health Clinic on Thursday, September 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Free services include complete history and physical by healthcare providers, dental consultations by dental providers, lab work including lipid panel and pasting blood sugars, pap smears, and sports and school physicals for children. It is encouraged with the fasting blood sugar lab work to not eat for 12 hours before lab work for a more accurate reading. This means no food, only water or black coffee.
During this event, Southwest Virginia Community Health Systems will host a Cervical Cancer Awareness Day. Free pap smears and cervical cancer education will be offered by medical providers.
Vendors will be on site and free giveaways will occur.
