Southwest Virginia Community Health Systems’ Bristol Community Health Center Welcomes New Medical Provider

Southwest Virginia Community Health Systems’ Bristol Community Health Center is welcoming a new medical provider Mitalee Doshi, MD, to better serve the patients of the Bristol community and surrounding areas.

Doshi started at SVCHS in October 2024. She is board-certified through the American Board of Family Medicine and completed her residency through Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va. in affiliation with Ballad Health. She graduated in 2021 from Ross University, School of Medicine.

“I grew up in Bakersfield, CA, as a first-generation Indian-American, where I saw my grandmother struggle with her healthcare due to language barriers. This inspired me to pursue Family Medicine, where I could be an educator, advocate, and bridge between patients and the healthcare system,” Doshi said.

Outside of working, Doshi enjoys South Asian dancing, baking, and exploring new dog-friendly restaurants with her husband and German Shepherd. As a native of Southern California, she also loves traveling anywhere with a beach.

“Throughout my practice, I’ve discovered the immense satisfaction of seeing my patients’ health improve under my care. Building trusting physician-patient relationships and providing continuity of care are core to my passion for medicine. I am committed to serving underserved communities and promoting preventive care through a holistic approach for patients of all ages. Residency brought me to Appalachia, where the kindness of the community and the need for better health literacy motivated me to stay,” Doshi said.

Doshi specializes in family medicine, which allows her to provide comprehensive care to patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors.

Doshi is accepting new patients now, along with same-day appointments being available, at Bristol Community Health Center located at 2195 Euclid Avenue, Suite 202, Bristol, VA 24201.

SVCHS has community health centers in Meadowview, Va., Saltville, Va., Bristol, Va., and Tazewell, Va., along with pediatric services in Bristol, Va. and Tazewell, Va. SVCHS is currently accepting new pediatric patients. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 276-496-4492.
